I have been teaching for 25 years in grades kindergarten through fourth. I
graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Education and an Early Childhood certification. I have
been trained in Great Expectations,Literacy First,and Love and Logic.
I am married to Kevin Murphy who is the owner/operator of Oklahoma City
Special Events Company. We moved here from Kansas in 1990. We have three
grown children who live here in the city, all three are married. My hobbies
include eating out with my family, sewing projects for my house,light
gardening, reading, decorating my home, and traveling.
I love working with the children, teachers, and parents at Deer Creek
Elementary. I am so pleased to be part of this dedicated and enthusiastic
faculty. The great teachers along with the outstanding support of parents
make Deer Creek Elementary a great place to be!
To assist each student in developing to the fullest his or her potential
both academically and socially. To help students develop a life long love of
learning and to expand interest and curiousity to new levels. To value each
child as a unique individual with different experiences,interests,backgrounds
and learning styles.I will set high standards for all of my students and at
the same time help them achieve them. Finally I will love each child
with a caring spirit and provide them with the tools they will need to be
successful.
