I am one of the resource teachers with the students from grades Kindergarten
through 5th. I graduated in December 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in
Education; specializing in severe-profound, and mild-moderate special
education. I am certified in the areas of severe-profound; mild-moderate; and
elementary education.
I have three beautiful daughters; ages 23, 21, and 17. The oldest is majoring
in elementary education and is about to graduate from OU. Daughter #2 is
considering a career in psychology (but is still undecided), and the youngest
is a senior in high school.
I enjoy reading, watching classic movies, working in the yard, playing with my
nieces and nephews, and of course--watching OSU football!
I am looking forward to the school year and am very excited about the things
we are going to learn! It will be a pleasure to work with you and your child
to make this a wonderful year at Deer Creek Elementary!
My mission for the class is to help my students be the best they can be. We
will be working very hard to achieve to our best potential. We will
encourage hard work and effort, even if the final results are not what we
expected, and we will keep trying until we achieve success. We will not
focus on failure, but keep our eyes on the goal. We will celebrate each
other and encourage each other along the way. It is my mission to help each
child discover a love of learning new things everyday, and continue with a
life-long desire for knowledge.
One of my favorite quotes is by Abraham Lincoln. "Whatever you are, be a
good one." I strive to help my students discover that they can be the best
that they can be--whatever that might be!
