| Pretests will be given on Monday and sent home that afternoon. Students
that master all 12 words on Monday will be given the challenge list to
study. Students will not be penalized for missing challenge words.
Children who are on the challenge list will receive a 100% for the spelling
pretest. Correctly spelled challenge words will be a bonus! All students
are encouraged to take the challenge test. The spelling lists will be posted
on our web site on Monday afternoon each week. Please have your child
practice writing their spelling words through the week as needed to prepare
for the test on Friday. It is great to practice spelling the words orally
when you are in the car, but most students benefit from actually writing
their words. A great way to practice and even test your child on words is a
web site: www.spellingcity.com. This site allows you to make a customized
list of words where your child can learn, practice, and play games with
these words. Your child's first spelling pretest will come home on Monday,
September 8th. We will have our first test on Friday, September 12th.
