Classroom Policy

Each student has a timer. They set their timer for 20 minutes. They work
for 20 minutes and when time is up they then set timer for 5 minutes and then
get 5 minutes of free time in the center area.

We have went to a money system in our classroom. Students work for (play)
money and are allowed to spend at the end of each day. A list of ways to
make money are posted for students as well as the list of ways to spend money.

removing all sticks 1.00 dollar suckers .75 cents

Students trade the smaller coins for greater coins during the day, this is
how I am teaching money. At the end of the day they then get to choose what
they would like to buy and have to provide correct amount of money.

Students who are not in the mood to work or having trouble focusing have time
added to their timer based on the number of minutes they did not work. They
will not receive money if they do not work. Also wrong choices or not being
respectful to adults will cost a student a quarter, which is put in a
classroom jar. Every Friday a name is drawn to get the money in the
classroom jar.

CENTER TIME AND MONEY IS EARNED BY THE STUDENTS EACH DAY. We work with
the students in understanding that we are not giving it to them. It is theirs
because they worked hard for it.

I am really proud of my students they are turning into hard workers with a
great work ethic. They care about their work and are working hard each day.

PLEASE BRAG ON THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
