I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a BA.Ed. degree
in 1987. I am mainly licensed in Art Education but also licensed in Biology
Education and Middle School Science.
I have been making pottery for the last 23 years. Even though I feel I am
proficient in most of the art fields, I seem to like pottery the best.
I served our country for 10 years of Naval service with three tours in Viet
Nam as a Naval photographer. Later I switched to another field that I found
interesting and became an Intelligence specialist dealing mainly with
Satellite Surveillance. The Navy also gave me a great opportunity to observe
many cultures by allowing me to visit different areas of the world.
My Grandson had recently enlisted in the Navy to become a Master at Arms (the
Navy's version of Military Police) and I am very proud of him. He has been
stationed in Masawa, Japan for the past year now.
My classes are not just how to make ceramics or developing creativity but an
exercise in problem solving skills, self-discipline and just plain having
fun.
