WE HAVE THE SAME GOAL: To see your child as a happy and successful adult!
My focus is getting students ready for the real world of higher education,
and careers. This means teaching content, learning skills, and interpersonal
practices that will help them to succeed.
I believe in teaching to all learning styles. I also believe no person was
ever harmed by trying their best. I try to involve students so that students
experience a new fact or concept in such a way that the stays with them.
Learning can be and should by fun!
This is my third year at Deer Creek Middle School. Prior to that for 13
years, I taught history at Moore Central Junior High, Prior to that time I
taught Japanese Language and Culture for the Shawnee Public Schools.
I am a graduate of Putnam City High School, Class of 1989. I then went to
Oklahoma Baptist University. In 1992 I moved to Fukuoka, Japan and began a
one year exchange to Seinan Gakuin University completing a degree in
Japanese Language, History and Culture. I married my wife Mina in Japan,
however strangely enough we had met at OBU. I returned to OBU and graduated
in 1994 with a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy of Religion with a Minor in
Anthropology with a focus on Asian Studies. In 2001, I graduated from
Southern Nazerene University with a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership.
Before everything else you read I have a beautiful daughter - Katy. My wife
and I have been married almost 20 years and Katy is our first child, so our
world has been turned completely upside down. We are expecting another child -
a boy Ryan Thomas. He will be born this August 2012. Before children came
along we both had many activities and hobbies, of course all we have time to
do is simply take care of the kids, my wife and dog, however, that is not bad
