Welcome to 7th grade L.A. Composition! I look forward to a great year.
This is my 31st year of teaching, fifteen of which have been with Deer
Creek. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades. I received my
degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1978. Go Sooners! Before coming
to Deer Creek, I taught with Union Public Schools and a private school in
Florida. I am married to Tony, who is the Transportation Coordinator for
Piedmont Public Schools. My daughter Casey is 27, married, and the mother
of my wonderful grandson Parker who will be six years old in September. My
other daughter Courtney is 23 and a senior at UCO.
My goal is that each student will become a more proficient writer through
the study of grammar, usage, mechanics, and the writing process. I hope
that students will apply all of the skills learned in class to their own
writing. Also, I would like to help students overcome their trepidation
about writing so that they will come to view the process as enjoyable!
