I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Rose Union Elementary this
upcoming school year! Last year, I taught 1st grade at Rose Union and
am "looping" up to 2nd grade with my class this year. I am so excited about
this experience and I think it will be an incredible experience! This will
be my 4th year in the Deer Creek school system, as I taught 2nd grade at
Deer Creek Elementary and most recently 2nd grade and 1st grade at Rose
Union. Before that, I taught 1st grade for five years at Jenks Southeast
Elementary in Tulsa. Prior to teaching 1st grade, I taught 3rd grade at
Mills Elementary in Owasso and 2nd grade at Madison Elementary in Norman. I
am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and I love cheering on the
Sooners during football and basketball season. My husband, Rand, works in
the treasury department at Midland Financial Company in OKC, which is the
parent company of MidFirst Bank. We have a son, Blake, who is 2 years old.
We also have two dogs. Carly is a maltese and Maddie is a
miniature schnauzer. My students will hear a lot about Blake, Carly, and
Maddie throughout the school year.
My goal for my students is to help them become caring and compassionate
citizens while instilling a desire in them to become the best they can be.
