Welcome to Second Grade! We are going to have a fantastic year.
For those of you who don't know me, I have been teaching for 12 years both
in Deer Creek and Oklahoma City, in grades prekindergarten through second
grade. I have a Master's in Education and am a National Board Certified
Teacher. In addition to these achievements, I am an Oklahoma Writing
Project Fellow. Being part of the Oklahoma Writing Project has allowed me
to travel the state working with other teachers.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Phil and our
grandchildren. we have three wonderful grown children, Brittanie, Chris and
Amanda. Brittanie is married and has a daughter, Koren. She is pursuing a
nursing degree and works for a doctor in Edmond. Chris is married and has a
daughter named Abby. His wife,Lori teaches in Yukon, while Chris is a Yukon
police officer. Our youngest, Amanda works for Bancfirst and attends UCO and
is pursuing a degree in English. The "baby" and sometimes boss of our house
is Maggie our beagle mix.
I am looking forward to a Super Second Grade year for everyone!
