We have worked on getting the newsletter on teacher web this week. It will now be there every week. The format is a little different, but at least it is there for you to see. There will not be an archive of newsletters, however the newsletter for the week will be there.
We would so appreciate any donations of Clorox wipes.
We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We will be out of school on November 25,26, and 27th.

Social Studies
Our current chapter is “Building the First Permanent Colonies”, Chapter 4. With this chapter we will do a series of questions, activities and projects that cover the chapter. Please check the website for information regarding the chapter 4 study guide and any other information. I am hoping to test Chapter 4 on Tuesday, November 24th.
Math
We are now on Topic 6 which covers Variables and Expressions. We will learn how to evaluate algebraic expressions using multiplication, addition, and subtraction. We will also learn the Distributive Property to simplify equations.
Please continue working with your child on their multiplication facts. I added a few games in the links section on our website to assist students in learning his or her facts.

Language Arts
We began Ch. 8 in grammar on Monday. It includes object pronouns, mixed pattern sentences, verb tense, and principal parts of verbs. We will review tomorrow and test on Monday. Don’t forget to send a note letting me know you studied together for five extra points. Tuesday we will do a fun, creative writing activity.
Math
We tested over Topic 6 on Tuesday, and began Topic 20, yes 20, on Wednesday. It covers probability. It’s a short Topic so we will test on Tuesday, November 24. The Topic 20 test out of the textbook is a great way to review. Don’t forget to send a note letting me know you studied together for five extra points.
**When multiplying and/or dividing large numbers, it is much easier and faster for the students if they know their math facts. Please be sure your child practices his/her math facts nightly to become fluent.

Science
This week in science we will be continuing our study of mixtures and solutions. We will complete our investigation about reaching saturation dealing with salt and citric acid.
Math
We will continue topic 5 over number and fraction concepts. We will be learning about numbers and the number line, equivalences, patterns, and mathematical processes. We will be learning about equivalent fractions and how to reduce fractions to the simplest form. Please remember to practice the multiplication facts with your child. It really makes a difference for them when we do ROCKET MATH.
