About The Teacher

Ms. Hensley
I have taught elementary school for thirteen years. Before coming to Deer
Creek public schools I taught in Oklahoma City Public Schools at Quail Creek
Elementary. I went to the University of Oklahoma, prior to transfering to
SWOSU, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. I got my teaching degree and an endorsement
in Language Arts from SWOSU. In 1999 I was awarded the Entry Teacher of the
Year for the State of Oklahoma. In 2001-2002 I was selected along with 25
other teachers from across the state of Oklahoma to participate in the
Educator's Leadership Academy. I was a Great Expectation Instructor and
obtained my National Board of Teaching Certificate in Middle Childhood
Generalist in 2003. The light of my life is Addy, my Yorkshire Terrior. I
spend a lot of time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, watching
sports, playing tennis, games, and shopping.

Mrs. Howard
This is my eleventh year in education. After graduating from the University
of Northern Iowa in 1997 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a
degree in Elementary Education, I taught ten years in Putnam City. I began
my career at D.D. Kirkland Elementary where I taught third and fourth grades
for seven years, and then I spent the last three years at Coronado Heights
Elementary where I taught fifth grade.
I am looking forward to continuing my career in education at Rose Union as
the fifth grade Grammar and Writing teacher in addition to teaching a section
of math. We have a wonderful team of teachers to prepare Rose Union’s fifth
graders to make a successful transition into middle school.
I am happily married to my husband, Jerrod, who is a system engineer for
Aruba Networks. We are very blessed to have a beautiful daughter named
Annabelle who will begin first grade here at Rose Union this year. In my
spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and
exercising. Living in Deer Creek makes me not only a teacher who wants the
best for Rose Union, but it also makes me a parent who wants the best for
Rose Union. I am very anxious to help create a place where children will
happily anticipate each new day of learning. Let’s have a fabulous year!

Mrs. Stone
I am so excited about teaching your children. I have ten years of teaching
experience. I taught for five years at John Ross Elementary in Edmond, and I
have had the privilege of teaching in Deer Creek the last five years. I spent
my first two years at Prairie Vale Elementary, and have happily spent the
last three years at Rose Union. I received my bachelor’s degree in education
from Oklahoma Baptist University. A very important part of my life is my
family. My husband and I have been married 17 years. We have two children
who attend Rose Union. Mitchell is in 5th grade and Matthew is in 1st
grade. I enjoy watching sporting events, going to movies, scrapbooking,
caring for our pets, and spending time with family. I look forward to meeting
each of you. We are going to have a great year!

Ms. Taylor
I am so excited to begin my first year at Rose Union! I will be teaching
Reading and Spelling. I will also teach one section of math. I recently
graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with an Elementary
Education degree. My student teaching was at John Ross Elementary in Edmond,
teaching fifth grade. During this past summer, I attended Great
Expectations and had a wonderful time. I learned many new ways to provide
students with the best education possible.
I live in Edmond and absolutely love this area. I recently got engaged to a
wonderful man, named Barrett and got a new yorkie, named Bella. They are my
amazing family. I love to spend time with family and friends. I also love to
garden, shop, decorate, and watch college football. I am looking forward to
a great year!
