Wish List

I wish for ALL my students:
Most important:

1.  Someone in the family to read aloud and discuss interesting books on a daily basis to all your children.
(All right--so you miss a day now and then--more is better than less.  They can all listen to the same book)

2.  Someone in the family to listen and comment on books your child is reading aloud on a regular basis.  We're talking
     10-20 minutes a day.
(So you have more than one kid--split it up--have one read in the morning and one at night--one when
you're cooking dinner and one when you're cleaning up.  More than 4 kids?  I hope there are two parents
in the home but if not, have the older ones listen to the younger, or recruit grandparents or adopt some grandparents.
This is too important to let slide.)

Nice to have:

3.  I can always use book fair volunteers.

4.  I can always use parents to put books back on shelves.  Don't know how?  Don't be embarrassed.  Most of us didn't
have library teachers at school.  I'll show you how.

5.  I LOVE cash donations so I can buy more books for the kids.
