What do I do with the Monday folder?
Your child's Monday folder will be sent home every Monday. It
will contain all of the graded work from the previous week, any
notes from the office and a Monday note from me. Please take a
minute to look through all of your child's work and sign the sign
sheet in the back of the folder.
What should I do if my child is absent or tardy?
If you know that your child is going to be absent, please call
the office and let them know. That way I can make sure that their
work is all together and you may pick it up at the end of the day
or the following day. If your child comes in late, please stop
by the office and they will issue your child a tardy slip to give
to me in the classroom.
Can my child bring toys to school?
I prefer that all toys stay at home. That way they won't get
broken or stolen.
Can I eat lunch with my child?
Sure! Our lunch time is 11:00 daily. Unless I am on recess duty
and then we go around 10:55.
Can I take my child out to eat?
Yes. Our lunch time is 11:00 daily. It would be best to be here
a few minutes early. Please check in at the office and they will
buzz our classroom. Then I will send your child up to the office
to meet you.
Can I volunteer in the classroom?
Absolutely! We would love to have you! There are many things that
I need help with, such as running off papers, tearing out
workbook pages, reading with the kids and helping with AR tests.
What and how many snacks do I send on my child's snack day?
Please send a healthy snack on your child's snack day. This might
be one of the following: pretzels, goldfish, crackers with
cheese, fresh vegetables or fruit with dip, whales, animal
crackers, small bagels, fruit snacks or yogurt. Please send
enough for 25 children.
What do I do when I get my child's progress report/report card?
When your child brings home a progress report/report card, please
look over it, sign it and return it to school the next day.
Unless I give it to you at our parent teacher conference.
How can I help my child academically?
Please help your child with their homework. Don't do it for them,
but help them when they need it. Make sure too that it gets back
to school every day. This models responsibility. Also, read out
loud with your child every night for at least 20 minutes.
