Behavior Plan-We use color bears for behavior in Pre-K. A color bear
will be sent home everyday in your child’s back-pack.
GREEN BEAR- Means your child had a good day.
YELLOW BEAR-Means your child had a little trouble following the rules.
It will have a note explaining what your child did to earn a yellow bear.
(Things to get a yellow bear would be: playing in the restroom or hall, not keeping hands to themselves, being rude to others) We tell them we all make mistakes.
RED BEAR-Means your child had a hard time making good choices.
It will have a note explaining what your child did to earn a red bear.
(Things to get a red bear would be: hitting, pushing, repeated refusal to do what they were asked to do, throwing fits)
We try to be very patient with student’s behavior. They are warned about behaviors that would get them a yellow or red bear. They usually have had several chances before they get a yellow or red bear. We try to stress that we are all responsible for the choices we make. We tell the students that we (the teachers) can even get yellow or red bears from Mrs. Jackson if we make bad choices.
Extreme cases we will send to Mrs. Jackson.
TREASURE CHEST-When your child earns 5 green bears, they will get to visit our treasure chest. They can choose stickers, small toys, books, pencils, etc…
Please return the bear to school each day.
