Math Problem of the Week

Math Problem of the Week

This is a brand new page this year.  Each week there will be a special, super, duper, math trick.
School the problem with your calculator or other tools designated and will a "math price" from
the mathematics box.  There is nothing more fun than working with numbers.
Math is just patterns and relationships.  If you find the pattern ----
You can solve the problem.

Been off the plantet for a while.  Here we go again........

Primary - Kingergarten, First, Second

  •   Maybe you could have mom buy you a small bag of skittles.  Have you got it?  Count all the skittles or raisins.  Pattern your skittles. Divide them into two groups.  How many do you have in each group?  What color do you have the least?  What color is the most?  What color do you like to eat?  Does your bag of skittles have more than 30 in the bag?

    •  Email it to me at johnsonp@deercreek.k12.ok.us, or come by my room with your answer.  It is more fun if you come by my room, I enjoy getting to visit with you.  I have a prize waiting for you.

    • Get your handy dandy calculator:  Here we go......
    • This is "Chocolate Math".  You will need a piece of chocolate to do this math problem.

Write the number of times you would like to hae chocolate during the week - more than once but less than 10.  Multiply that number by 2 - add 5 - multiply by 50 - if you have had a birthdya this year add 1754 - if you have not add 1753 - subtract the 4 digit year you were born - you should have a three digit number for your answer - the first digit was your original number - the next 2 numbers are your age.
