Gifted Classes do not have homework....... We have a
marvelous time problem-solving and learning how to be
great thinkers.
Parents please give special attention to this homework announcement. If
your child attends our "Passport" reading program on Monday through Thursday
and brings that little book bag home each evening with the reading log in
it, please make sure you read the book with your child every night. It is
very important for them to read that book at least 2 times, you sign the log
and return it the following day. You are a tremendous asset to your child's
education. We could not do it without you. Thank you for giving special
attention to this very important matter. Just 10 minutes each evening
hearing y our child read aloud will be invaluable.
Homework is exciting and uplifting. It builds strong and creative minds
that leads to very successful students. That is what happens to you when you
spend just 10 to 15 minutes each night reading with someone in your family.
The returns are rich and long lasting.
Stack up those pillows, kick off your shoes and take time for reading.
Reasearch does indicate that reading with your child just 10 minutes each
evening helps to accelerate their reading fluency and comprehension.
