Wow! 100% of our parents attended our conferences last week!!! I enjoyed talking with parents and learning more about my students.Thank you, parents, for helping my students read their homework stories.  I can see much improvement in our word recognition skills including recognizing sight words!

 

Remember that we start our spelling tests this week with short a words on the list that was in your child's folder during our conferences. Please help your child study these words and help him or her practice the process of taking a spelling test at home.

 

In November we will be learning about healthy foods and the food groups. Second, we will be reading and discussing books about foods, homes, and clothing (hats and shoes) in different parts of the world.  Third, we will learn more about the first Thanksgiving and the Pilgrims. Fourth, we will discuss the importance of recognizing our country's veterans and our present-day soldiers.

My daily planning time is from 12:40-1:40. On Tuesdays we have our first grade level meeting but I would be glad to return your phone call later in the day.
