--------------------------------------
When is the first grade lunch time?
We will be eating lunch around 10:45 each day. The time will vary when your
child is seated as all seven first grade classes take turns being first in
line. If you would like to purchase a tray lunch I would recommend paying
for the lunch early (10:40) and then waiting for our class so that the lunch
line can proceed smoothly.
--------------------------------------
How often may my child check out library books?
We will usually go to the library each day and each child may check out two
books each day if he/she returns the books previously checked out.
--------------------------------------
How many books should my child read this year?
Please read as many books to your child and later with your child as he/she
begins to recognize and "sound-out" words. The amount of time that parents
devote to reading at home makes a huge difference in their child's reading
skills and enthusiasm for reading, not only this year, but in the following
grade levels.
I will be sending home book lists to record books read at home as the number
of book lists that your child returns each nine-weeks period will be
recorded on his/her report card each nine-weeks period. Please include books
that you read to your child and books and stories that your child reads to
you. You may also list books checked out from the Mustang Public Library and
books that you have in your home library.

Will my child have homework each evening?
As needed I will be sending homework assignments to practice reading,
spelling and math skills. Please read to and with your child each evening
for at least 15-20 minutes as part of our daily homework assignments.
