This week we are learning about healthy foods and the food groups and reading and discussing books about foods and clothing (hats) in different parts of the world. Last week we learned about the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims, and the Indians. In math I will be introducing this week our last addition fact 5+5. We have worked very hard on the addition facts - sums to ten.
This Friday your child will bring home his/her second quarter mid-term progress report. Please continue to help your child practice our sight words and encourage him/her to read each night. Please help your child study our spelling words and help him or her practice the process of taking a spelling test at home. I appreciate your helping your child in being successful this year.

My daily planning time is from 12:40-1:40. On Tuesdays we have our first grade level meeting but I would be glad to return your phone call later in the day.
