Yes!  Your child will need to read each evening for at least 20 minutes.

How can I keep track of my students assignments and homework?

All that you need to do is check your childs agenda each evening.  It will 
have a breakdown of what we did during reading that day and also let you 
know if they have homework.  Another way to keep track is by using Parent
