Homework

Parent involvement is the key to a successful year in the classroom. Please
check the web site for a list of skills being taught each nine weeks and then
work on these skills at home. Look through your child's back pack every
night and go over any papers that have been sent home. Reinforcing skills at
home is very important.

Timed sight word and letter drill sheets will be sent home each Monday. Time
your child reading the sight words and letters every night (Mon. - Thurs.),
encouraging them to "beat" their previous time. Initial that you have
listented to them read the lists and write down the amount of time that it
took to read each list. Students receive a reward for completing this
assignment every night.

Homework will be sent home every Tuesday in your child's CLIFFORD binder.
Please go over the instructions on each page and make sure that your child
understands how to complete each page. Homework should be returned on
Wednesday.

Reading homework will also sent home on Tuesday. Please listen to your child
read the book every night (Tues. - Thurs.)and sign the reading log to verify
that you listened to your child read. These should be kept in the reading
homework pocket of your child's CLIFFORD binder throughout the week. I will
remove them on Friday.

Practice all skills on the report card, especially address, phone number,
birthday, tying shoes and fastening clothing.

Read to your child for a minimum of 15 minutes every night.

Thanks so much for your support at home!!!
