What is the Mustang Creek Creed?

I am proud to be a special and unique student at Mustang Creek Elementary.
I take great pride in my school.
I will be responsible for my learning, actions, and my behavior.
I will do what is right.
I will seize every opportunity to learn.
I will respect and celebrate the differences of others.
My destiny is in my hands.
The education I receive today will make me a leader of tomorrow.

My child brought home a paper and it had a check on it. What does that mean?

This check means that we worked on this paper in class. I normally place a
check on the paper and hand it back to go home. Please check over the paper
and ask your child about it.

My child brought home a paper and it has two numbers on it.

Normally when I take a grade I count the total possible and how many was
correct on a paper. For instance: 18/20 would be a 90%, a 20/20 would
be a 100%. I will try to put percents on the papers also, if I forget you
can just divide the top number by the bottom number and get the percent
correct. Better yet, have your student do this with a calculator.

your child about it.

My student has a paper with a corrected score on it.

On some of the papers we do I will allow the students to correct the
problems they missed. When we do this I allow the students credit for each
of the corrected answers to be added to the score on their paper.

So let us say your child has a 70% on a paper. They correct all of the
problems they missed. I would recheck the paper and then change their grade
to an 85%. My goal with this is to allow the students another chance at
learning the material.

What does NTI mean?

NTI means "Not Turned in".
This means someone had not turned in an assignment. This is figured into the
grades at a 0 until the assignment has been completed and turned in. All
grades are due before the end of the grading period. Late papers normally
will face a 20% penalty.
