May I send snacks for my child's birthday?

Yes. The snacks will be passed out at lunch time. (12:00) Please send
enough for the entire class. (24 should be plenty)

What do I do if I want to visit my child's school?

Parents are always welcome. All persons entering the building must sign in
at the office.

What should I do if my child is going to be absent?

Please call the school office before 8:15 if your child will be absent for
any reason.
If you do not call, the school secretary will call you.

Where will my child go if he/she is at school before the school day begins ?

Children that arrive at school before 8:05 a.m. will sit in the main hallway
unless they are eating breakfast. Children may begin eating breakfast at
7:30.
The children will not be permitted to go their room because the teacher may
not be in the room or may be having a conference. There is no supervision
before 7:40.

May my child eat breakfast at school?

Yes! Your child may eat breakfast at school. Breakfast is served from 7:30
until 8:05. For more information about cafeteria services follow the link
from the home page.

What should I do if my child needs to stay in from recess?

A parent will need to send a note with a child or call the school in order
for a child to stay in from recess. Special circumstances can be discussed
with the teacher at any time.

Where can I pick up my child after school?

School is dismissed at 3:10. You may park on the east side of the school by
the playground or in the main parking lot. Please let Mrs. Bley know which
place you want your child to meet you. You must come to the porch to meet
your child. Children being picked up by the main parking lot will need to
wait on the porch until the vehicle waiting for them has pulled up into the
loading zone.

When will my child attend Art, Music, PE, and Media classes?

Your child will attend one of these classes every day. This is done on a 4-
day rotating schedule. You may look in the schedule section of this website
for a monthly scedule. A printed schedule will be sent home with your child
once a month.

May I send snacks to school?

You may send snacks to school any day for the entire class. (24) If more
than 1 child brings snacks on the same day, we will save one for the next
day.

May I help in the classroom?

Absolutely! Please let Mrs. Bley know if you want to help by being a
homeroom mother. Other opportunities include helping with the Christmas and
Valentine's Day parties, copying, sorting, stapling, listening to children
practice reading. There are many ways to help in the classroom. Please
talk to Mrs. Bley if you are interested.

What should I do if my child needs to bring money to school?

Send all money in an envelope with your child's name on it. You should also
write on the envelope why the child is bringing the money. (Example:lunch
money, picture money,etc.) It would be best if a parent or caregiver could
bring this envelope to the teacher or give it to the office to give to the
teacher. Lunch money may be taken to the cafeteria as soon as the student
arrives at school.

What will happen if my child becomes ill or hurt at school?

The nurse will contact a parent or a note will be sent home with the child.
