The competitive speech and debate classes are working on an Original Oration
for the end of the first 9 weeks. I have always required this 10 minute
speech to be written by the end of the 9 week period. I have even saved the
OO's going back the six years I have been here. This speech must be typed -
double spaced so on the chance that it is good enough to take to tournament,
I will have a copy to turn in to the OSSAA.
The drama classes first 9 weeks grades will be based on their showcase. If
they showed up and performed their monologue that night - they should have a
good grade. If they didn't show (after all of the warnings)then we don't
have much to grade.
Business and Professional Speaking has just finished a power point
presentation. Since this was their first try at power point the assignment
was to use maps, pictures, colors, and designs to show how to get to their
home from the school. (The more creative the presentation - the better the
grade.) They were all fantastic!
The next assignment is to give an informative-demonstration speech using
visual aids, handouts, electronics, etc. to teach how to do a simple task
such as making a sandwich or ironing a shirt. These are due Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday of next week - October 7,8, and 9.
