Ms. Spradling has been in the Yukon Public School system for seven years. She
previously taught in high schools in Oklahoma and Kansas. She also taught at
the university level at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Northern
Oklahoma College.
She was a high school state debate champion and went on to debate on the
college circuit.
She has a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and Education. She has acted on the
stage in over 40 productions and hosted her own weekly television cooking
show. She also acted in the movie Dillinger. (If you blink you could miss
her big scene.)
Spradling is also a writer. She has penned one book and is working on her
second. She also won an Associated Press award for her newspaper column in
1992.
She is married to Harold. He usually goes to the tournaments with the Yukon
speech team and serves as a judge. She also has a son, Michael. He is
beginning his final year in pharmacy school at the University of Oklahoma.
He has also judged for our team at a few tournaments. Michael's wife is May
and she is about to finish her business degree at UCO this year.
Spradling also loves animals. She has five dogs. Two are Bichons (Cosette
and Rory)and live with her in the condo in OKC. She also has two Yorkies and
a golden who live at her home in Cherokee.
I want all of my students to feel like winners. When we go to tournaments,
Yukon High School is very competitive in speech and debate. We win most of
our rounds and if we lose a round we know how to fix our cases and go on to
win the next round.
