I have been teaching for 7 years. In my spare time I enjoy riding one of our three horses. I have been married for 14 years to my husband, Matt. We have two children. My daughter, Aubry, is 12 years old and is currently a 6th grader at LMS. My son, Drew, is 7 years old and is currently a 1st grader at Skyview. I am so excited about having your child in my classes this year and look forward to a great year. We will have many fun-filled days full of learning. Please free to contact me at 354-6692 ext. 1752 if ever you have any questions or concerns. I am also available via e-mail at kari.stomprud@yukonps.com.
The students will gain an understanding of mathematics. The students will develop and test strategies to solve practical, everyday problems. Students will use manipulatives and technology to generate and analyze data. The students will use these strategies to become creative mathematics problem solvers in real life situations. The study of mathematics will give the students the basic skills necessary to explore job possibilities (both present and future), build confidence in their ability to do mathematics, solve problems, and to communicate mathematically.
