Problem SequenceHomework Problem Sequences Keep this document; you will be using it all year. Your assignment sheets will often identify different sequences of problems to be completed as follows: 1. Sequences E and F (see below) assign pairs of problems. 2. Sequences A, B, C, & D assign “1” problem out of every “4” problems. 3. One problem out of every “3” problems are assigned by one of the following: a. “Divisible by 3”: Problem #’s that are divisible by 3. b. “Divisible by 3 minus 1”: Problem #’s that are the problem before the problems #’s that are divisible by 3. c. “Divisible by 3 minus 2”: Problem #’s that are the two problems before the problems #’s that are divisible by 3. Homework Sequence for “Divisible by 4” Problems Sequence A Sequence B Sequence C Sequence D 4 47 2 45 3 48 1 46 7 52 5 50 8 51 6 49 12 55 10 53 11 56 9 54 15 60 13 58 16 59 14 57 20 63 18 61 19 64 17 62 23 68 21 66 24 67 22 65 28 71 26 69 27 72 25 70 31 76 29 74 32 75 30 73 36 79 34 77 35 80 33 78 39 84 37 82 40 83 38 81 44 87 42 85 43 88 41 86 Pattern for above sequences: 1. Sequence A and B start with the even numbers 4 & 2 respectively, and then repeat the pattern of skipping 3 and then 5 problems. 2. Sequence C and D start with the odd numbers 3 & 1 respectively, and then repeat the pattern of skipping 5 and then 3 problems. Homework Sequence for “Even/Odd” Problems Sequence E Sequence F 1 26 53 78 3 28 55 80 2 29 54 81 4 31 56 83 5 30 57 82 7 32 59 84 6 33 58 85 8 35 60 87 9 34 61 86 11 36 63 88 10 37 62 89 12 39 64 91 13 38 65 90 15 40 67 92 14 41 66 93 16 43 68 95 17 42 69 94 19 44 71 96 18 45 70 97 20 47 72 99 21 46 73 98 23 48 75 100 22 49 74 101 24 51 76 103 25 50 77 102 27 52 79 104 Pattern: Sequence E starts with problems 1&2 and sequence F starts with problems 3&4 and then repeats the pattern of skipping two problems then doing two problems. |
