Vergil Homework

 
Pay your Latin Club (Junior Classical League) dues - $10.00.  Make checks out 
to Cascia Hall Activities.  If you bring cash, try to bring exact amount.  
I'll be writing receipts soon and maybe we will get our officer elections 
scheduled soon. The new Secretary and Treasurer can help.   

For those of you who need a new Latin Club t-shirt we'll get the price from

Mon. Sept. 21&22:  Work together in class through line 22.  Write the meaning
                over the word. HMWK:  CW#IV and study for Deriv. Test 1-10 on
                 Wed. 

Wed. Sept. 23:  Deriv. Test 1-10 & CW#IV due. We'll either read or continue 
                trans. HMWK: Look-up new deriv. 11-20.

Thurs. Sept. 24:  Go over deriv. 11-20.  Read trans through line &
                  identify Figures of Speech.

Fri. Sept. 25:  We'll watch Part II of Documentary @Trojan War.  You'll
                fill in worksheet as you watch video. HMWK:  CW# V  and 
                Deriv. Test 11-20 Sept. 30 

Mon. Sept. 28-30:  You will read Vergil aloud through line 33. For a 
favorable grade all work must be shown. You will identify constructions, 
figures, discuss content and take notes. At home you may still be 
translating. The LAST crossword for first quarter is due Wed.

Wed. Sept. 30:  Look up derivatives 21-30.

Thurs. Oct. 1:  Study for derivative test 11-20 Oct. 7.

Fri. Oct. 2:  Work on translations through line 49.

Mon. Oct. 5-9:  Translate through line 49.

Mon. and Tues. Oct. 12-13:  Work on translations in class.  You may also 
complete any make-up work .  Be ready to start reading your translations all 
week in class through line 49.

Mon.-Fri. 19-23:  In class read translations through line 49 and make 
corrections, identify constructions and figures.  We'll also practice 
speaking.  Work on CW# VI and VII and get AHEAD! When ever  we finish reading 
we'll start learning the Greek alphabet.
Tues. Oct. 20:  Study for deriv. test 21-30.

Wed. Oct 21:  Deriv. Test 21-30.  Hmwk:  look up new deriv. 31-40.

Thurs. &Fri. Oct. 22-23:  We'll watch documentary In Search of Trojan War 
Part III.  Fill in Worksheets.  

Oct. 23 or 24:  Short fill in the blank quiz over Documentary In Search of 
Trojan War Part I & II.

Mon. Oct. 26:  Finish watching Part III of Trojan War and answering 
worksheets.  If we need to finish up Tues. we will. But study the Greek 
Alphabet!!  Write, Write, Write! Scribite! Scribite!  Scribite!

Tues. Oct. 27:  Study for Greek Alphabet Test! CW# VII due tomorrow. VII due 
                             next Wed. Nov. 4.

Wed. Oct. 28:  Practice conversations.

Thurs & Fri. Oct. 29 & 30:  We'll read your translations through line 49.


Nov. 2-6 We'll read Vergil daily.  
Nov. 4: In class Deriv. Test 31-40 & CW#VIIIdue.  HMWK:  Look up new deriv. 
41-50.

Fri. Nov. 6:  Greco in class.  HMWK:  Translate Vergil!

Nov.9-13:  In class we'll read Vergil daily.

Wed. Nov. 11:  PHRASE TEST & CW#IX due.
