When my daughters were in elementary school, I went back to college to
complete my degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. I am excited to be
teaching at Cascia Hall. Beginning in 1992, I taught at Union High School
where my assignments included Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus with
Trigonometry, College Algebra, Algebra 3, Statistics, and AP Calculus AB and
BC (I have taught AP Calculus since 1993).
My husband and I have two daughters, a son, two son-in-laws, and two
granddaughters. My daughters, son-in-laws, my husband, and I all
have degrees from OSU. Becca, my oldest granddaughter, believes that orange
is my favorite color. Some of my best friends, however, are Sooners.
I also have three very spoiled dauchshunds.
I love the challenge presented by problems found in AP Calculus and other
advanced math coursework and hope that my students will too.
Do not worry about your difficulties in mathematics; I can assure you that
mine are greater. – Albert Einstein
I first encountered Einstein’s words while studying Calculus as an
undergraduate. The admonition would race through my mind as I tackled new,
increasingly more difficult problems each semester. Teaching provides the
same ever-widening circle of complexity and challenge. No matter how much I
study, how hard I work, or how much I think I know, there is always more to
experience, more to discover, and more to learn.
It is my sincerest desire that my students discover a hunger for knowledge
and satisfaction in the pursuit.
