Internet Policy

                             Internet Policy

             PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND THIS DOCUMENT

Core Rules - You are expected to abide by the generally accepted rules of 
network etiquette.  These include (but are not limited to) the following:

(a) The use of the Internet during Periods 1,2,3,4 and 5 is to complete 
assignments for courses taken at B.S.S.

(b) The Internet can be used for educational browsing before school or after 
school.

(c) Adhere to the same standards on-line that are expected in a classroom.  
Be ethical.  Don't retrieve anything that a teacher would not approve of.  
When in doubt, ASK!

(d) Do not reveal your personal address or phone number or reveal addresses 
or phone numbers of other people.

(e) E-mail (electronic mail) and chat lines are to be used only when directed 
by a teacher-librarian or classroom teacher.

(f) Commercially available games are not to be played nor downloaded from the 
Internet nor stored on the hard drive or on floppy disc.

(g) Print out only course related material.  You are provided with $2.50 
worth of print credits per semester.  Black and white printing is $0.10 per 
page and colour printing is $1.00 per page.  If you require additional 
printing, you may purchase more from the main office.  Unused printing is NOT 
transferrable from semester to semester.

(h) It is your  responsibility to delete files no longer needed or they will 
be deleted for you when the space is needed on the network.

The use of Bramalea's computer network, including Internet access, is a 
privilege, NOT a right, and inappropriate use will result in the privilege 
being cancelled.  Unauthorized access can result in school disciplinary 
actions and or criminal charges.
