Today, as a timed task, I would like you to set up the following in InDesign:
Open a new file, a page 8.5 x 5.5 inches (140 x 216 mm). It should be a tall, thin page.
You may choose your own margins.
You must divide the page into 2 equal columns.
Onecolumn must befull of lines of text only. One column must contain 8 lines of text, and a photograph of a Cawthra teacher.Use Lorem Ipsum.
The page number should be page 24, and it should include today's date, September 24.
Use a quote from or about the teacher as a title or headline for your page. Put your name on the last line of the second column..
Once you have competed these tasks (on your own), raise your hand and I will come look over your shoulder to see it.
After that, you can continue on your own work.
Thanks. Try to have a little fun with this, if you can.

In October, we will be taking a field trip to this exposition. There is a section for students online, and a chance to win a scholarship to a design program in Canada. Worth a look.
