<LI>Today we will be exploring the articles, "Probing the Geodynamo" and "Earth's Inconsistent Magnetic Field".  By the end of the class you should have a good understanding of the Earth's magnetic field, its origin (Geodynamo) and its behaviour (polar wanderings and flips).</LI>

Week of September 8th
Monday: Carbon Cycle and the Hydrological Cycle
Be sure to review and have a good understanding of these two cycles.  Use yor text as a reference.  For tomorrow, answer the following:
Analyze the diagrams you have created of the water cycle and the carbon cycle.  On each diagram or on newly created diagrams, indicate the interactions of the Earth�s four spheres as they are involved in each of the cycles.<o:p></o:p>
TUESDAY:  Earth's Energy Budget
Using the reading provided in class complete the questions.  The questions and the reading can be found on the downloads page on this site.
WEDNESDAY:  Seminar preparation - in Library
Today we in the library learning about the databases n which you will find articles for your seminar.  Be sure to sign up for a seminar topic and date.  Some of you will be able to choose your article today as well.
THURSDAY:  Earth as a planet
Today we are investigating the compostion of the Earht's core.  For homework, complete the chart of earth's layers.  Use the readings on this website as a reference.

Today you need to have read the article, "Journey to the Centre of the Earth".
HOMEWORK:  Read the links (SES 4U Unit One Readings) on the Earth's INterior for Monday.  You may want to get a head start filling in the chart on the Earht's composition.  We will continue with this on Monday.
