Week of January 5th
MONDAY:  Microscope Skills

<LI>Today we reviewed skills involved in using a microscope.   If you missed class, you will need to get the handout and complete the lab investigation afterschool or during your lunch.</LI>
<LI>HOMEWORK:  Study for tomorrow's quiz on Parts of the Microscope.  It is the written portion of the "Microscope Operator's License".  You will also do the practical test.</LI></UL>
TUESDAY:  Microscope License testing and Science in the News (DNA)

<LI>Today we completed both the practical test and the written test for the Microscope Operator's license.  If you passed both parts, youwill get yuor license tomorrow and be able to complete the lab.  If you did not pass, you will have the opportunity to try again tomorrow.</LI>
<LI>We also did a "Science in the News" exercise that looked at DNA and what it is.  You must complete this for homework.</LI>
<LI>HOMEWORK:  COmplete the "Compound Microscope" fill-in-the-blank worksheet.</LI></UL>
WEDNESDAY:  Looking at Cells - Lab Investigation

<LI>Today we will look at cheek cells and onion cells in order to see the difference between the two.  You will be required to complete a formal biological diagram of each of these cells following the guidelines we learned in class today.  There will be time in class tomorrow as well.</LI></UL>
THURSDAY:  Drawing Cells - Lab Investigation

<LI>Today we will finish the biological drawings of a cheek cell and an onion cell under the microscope.</LI>
