To Make You Think...
Below are some books and films that I have found interesting. They are not
connected with any subjects in particular, but will certainly help you to
develop your critical thinking skills. If you choose to read or watch any
of these works, think carefully about the messages they are trying to
deliver and consider whether you think the arguments being put forward are
good ones. You may even be inspired to do some outside research of your own
to support an alternative position.
- The Omnivore's Dilemma, a book about how and what we eat by Michael Pollan
- The Corporation, a film by Mark Achbar, Jennifer Abbott & Joel Bakan
- The Take, a documentary film by Naomi Klein & Avi Lewis
- Control Room, a documentary film by Jehane Noujaim et al. (about Al-
Jazeera's coverage of the war in Iraq)
- Roger and Me, a film by Michael Moore (made prior to Farenheit 911 and
Bowling for Columbine)
-Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal, book by Eric
Schlosser
-The Selfish Gene, book by Richard Dawkins
