Gr. 9 ACADEMIC MATH
For homework: 1) The "Multiplying Monomials" worksheet - all questions!
2) The two lame puns ("Why Couldn't the Chicken...", etc.). Don't do the fractions on the back yet! (Remember, I have a pool running to see which one of you burns themselves out doing too much homework!)

Gr. 9 ACADEMIC MATH
Okay, folks, we're still on track for our Solving Equations Unit Test on Friday, Oct. 30. Today, we worked on the Chapter Review questions on pg. 230-231 of the textbook. Tomorrow, we'll take a crack at the Practice Test on pg. 232-233.
Gr. 11 COMM. TECH.
Shooting shooting shooting! If you're not shooting, perhaps you're "dijjin", which is "industry-standard" slang for "digitizing" your footage into the computers. (As in, "Mr. V sez I hafta dijj this video before I can cut it.") If you're not shootin' or dijjin, you're working on "Milestones in Comm. Tech". Dig it, yo.
Tentative due date: Mon., Nov. 19!
Gr. 12 COMM. TECH.
Group should be about finished lining their scripts and prepping for shooting. Keep continuity issues in mind for your shoots, if possible (for example, cast should wear same clothes if they can).

Gr. 9 ACADEMIC MATH
Your homework:
a) Read pg. 131 - 133 Examples and side notes. NOTE THE "DEGREE OF A TERM" definition on pg. 132: A term's "degree" is the sum of the exponents in a term. This means you can add the exponents in a term to get its degree. For example, u2v4 is a sixth-degree monomial.
b) Do the following questions: Pg. 134 - 136 #4 - 13 The work involves collecting and classifying terms & polynomials. #10 - 13 applies this stuff to algebraic modelling of "real-life" problems.
Gr. 11 COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Storyboards are due today. Some groups have already been approved and started shooting! The rest of you, HURRY UP! Remember, I am looking for a visual description of the scene including the shot type, the audio that will be in the scene (spoken lines, music) and a drawing of the shot. The drawing should match the shot type you describe in your visual! (Please don't draw an ELS and tell me it's a CU!)
Gr. 12 COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Scene proposals are due TODAY. We'll be getting into groups to discuss scenes and to plan how to "cover" the scene. This means you will be "lining" the script to outline your coverage. I hope to go through this process with you either today or Monday, so that we can start shooting next week.
