Hello everyone and welcome to World History to 1600. In this class we'll explore our earliest civilizations in Mesopotamia, then work our way through Egypt and Nubia, go north to Greece, then east to Rome. We'll end our journey at the end of the medieval world in London and Paris. Along the way, we'll get to know some very interesting people like Hammurabi, Ramses, Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, Themistocles, Julius Caesar, Marc Anthony (not JLo's husband), Charlemagne, Eleanore of Aquitaine, Richard the Lionhearted, and of course...Dr. Zahi Hawass (the most amazing archaeologist ever!!!).
This page gets updated regularly and will give you information on what we have done in class, when assignments are due, when tests are and what will be covered on the tests. It is a very useful tool for you and for your parents/guardians to know what you have missed if you are absent or if you have forgotten when a test/assignment is due. The other page you might want to look at is the e-docs for World History. There is nothing posted there right now, but as the semester progresses, I'll be posting notes, handouts, assignments, rubrics, and other useful information that will be helpful throughout the ourse. The homepage contains an e-mail icon that will direct you straight to my school e-mail. I'll be more than happy to discuss school related issues with either you or your parent/guardian either through e-mail, telephone, or at a pre-arranged meeting.
See you in class.
