Learning Strategies classes, Monitoring students with IEPs, spec ed administration duties
After attaining my teaching certification, I completed my Special Education
qualifications so I could combine my strengths in written communication with
my software and computer background in order to work with students who could
benefit by using technology. Over the last few years I have been teaching
Learning Strategies and Credit Recovery and have completed the courses
necessary to attain my Special Education Specialist certification.
I can assure parents and students that the support for students with
Individual Education Plans is excellent here at Cawthra. It is also an
exciting learning environment with tremendous support for charitable, arts,
sports, experiential and extra-curricular activities. I hope students and
parents will not hesitate to contact me should there questions or concerns as
the year progresses.
General Learning Strategies (GLE/GLS) is a course that covers topics such as
time management, organization, self-advocacy, literacy, numeracy and test-
taking strategies. The small class size allows us to address the topics and
needs of the individuals enrolled.
I look forward to working with students this year in order to help
them be better, more successful learners, with the focus on building self-
advocacy skills and self-knowledge.
