Book Reviews

The Supernaturalists

The book I finished reading is
called THE SUPERNATURALISTS by
Eoin Colfer. Overall I thought it
was a really good book. It took a
while to get interesting at the
beginning and I didn't completely
understand the beginning. It was
confusing because the book started
in a setting that rose many
questions in my mind. For
example, How did the character end
up in a place like that? or why
are they doing that? It really
helps if you read the back of the
book where it has the summary
before you start reading this
novel because it helps a bit. I
would recommend this book to fans
of the ARTEMIS FOWL series because
it's full of thrills and
adventure. If you like fantasy or
science-fiction, this would be a
great read for you
too!

Message in a Bottle

This book is called Message in a
Bottle by Nicholas Spark. I have
just
finished this book, and I thought
it was great. Message in a bottle
is about
this woman named Theresa, who is
always busy with her popular
column on
parenting and raising her 12 year
old son she just went through a
terrible
divorce after she caught her
former husband having an affair
with another
woman. One day while Theresa is
taking her first vacation in years
she spots
a bottle while jogging on the
beach, and wanting to do a decent
thing for
the environment proceeds to throw
it out but to her surprise she
notices
that inside is a letter, to a
woman named Catherine from a man
named Garret,
from clues in the letter it
Theresa found out that Catherine
passed away,
but the way Garret talked about
her was so touching, Theresa
couldn't help
crying and her friend insisted she
posts it in her column. But
there's more,
she soon finds two more letters
one at the Harvard University
library and
one from a woman who read her
column. Soon Theresa goes out to
find this
Garret guy with hopes of meeting
him. With clues from the letters
she tracks
him down and soon they end up
falling in love. But can Garret
move on from
Catherine’s death, can they handle
the long distance relationship and
what’ll happen when Garret
discovers the letters? This is a
great intriguing
book, I don’t want to give it away
but I just want to say that the
ending is
so unexpected and sad; I defiantly
recommend that the reader should
have a
Kleenex box near by.
