Journeys in Art and Media
Students are completing an independent study through which they will analyze the journey pattern in four different sources: Film, TV, biography and art. Based ontheir observations and comparisons of these four sources, they will identify one central purpose for journey.
The learning demonstration for this unit is a portfolio of communication tools: a comparison paragraph, a comparison chart, a works cited and a concept map.
Student portfolios are due Tuesday, May 6 and the w.o.o closes Friday, May 9.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Our second unit is a class study of the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding. We will be studying the text for the next two weeks. Students will complete a literary essay as a summative assignment for this unit. This assignment is available on the ENG2D0 files page.

The Journey in Short Fiction
Readings: "By the Waters of Babylon" "Fall of the City" "David" "Araby"
Assignment: Due between Tuesday, February 19 and Friday, February 22 Write ONE paragraph to compare how ONE stage in the journey pattern is treated in "By the Waters of Babylon" and ONE other piece of short literature from this unit. Refer to the assignment sheet on the ENG2D0 documents page for a specific breakdown of instructions.
Novel study begins next week! We will be reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
