Attention to all chess players: June 23, 2008.
To all new club and team members:
Welcome to Cawthra Park! Thank you for taking an interest in the chess
club/team. At Cawthra there is a chess club which begins late September and
concludes late May. The club usually meets every Monday after school until
about 4:30 pm and also most lunch times all week. From the club members a
competitive team will be selected. The competitive team consists of 5
players and 2 alternates. The competitive team competes against other schools
in the Peel Chess League. This up and coming year will prove to be very
exciting as the Peel Chess League expands to 11 teams (present count). There
will be a north and a south division. Cawthra will play in the south
division: Streetsville, Stephen Lewis, Gordon Graydon, Glenforest and Rick
Hanson. Last years record is below:

To all returning members and new members: Please stay tunes to announcements
and check this site for posted up-dates of meetings etc. We will have a
meeting sometime during the second week in September.
To returning members the first week back we need to launch an aggressive
recruitment for the chess club. Your help is needed to make and post
advertisements for the team.
All chess 'nuts'.....remember to practice, practice, practice over the summer!
