First Independent Art Assignment is due on Tuesday, October 13.

Format - 15 slides. Slides will either show an image and ask related questions such as artist, title. art movement, influences, etc. or slides will ask definitions or a series of questions. 1 slide will require a written response that will be evaluated on both content and writing conventions.
Review the following:
Knitting - techniques- co, knit, purl, ribbing, garter stitch, stockinette stitch, m1, k2tog, etc
-Review knitting as art notes. Consider why artists have turned craft into art. Review knitted works of Freddie Robins
Modernism/Realism, Inpressionism and Post-impressionsism - Review reasons for rise of modern art. Know artists, and titles of works, definitions and names of individuals connected to the period such as John Goffe Rand. Know what makes each movement different and the same. Know what sets each artist apart from others within the same movement.
Knitting Assignment is due Thursday, October 15.

Thursday, Oct. 1. You are currently working on your second knitting project. Due date is Thursday, October 15. Copies of assignment and rubric are available on the handouts page.
Monday, Sept. 14. Today the bear patterns were distributed along with the rubrics. The bears are due on Sept. 25 before the Terry Fox Run.
On Monday you will receive your bear patterns and we will discuss ways of working with colour.
