How can I get extra help?

I usually leave at least 15 minutes at the end of each class for seat work
and questions that's the best time to clarify any questions you may have
during the lessons. If you need extra help outside of class, I'll be glad
to schedule a mutually convenient time before school, during lunch, or after
school.

I studied so hard for the test, and I still did poorly, what do I do?

There are many different strategies that you can use in order to improve
your performance in Physics, but first, you must answer questions about
yourself as a student.

- When you get 'stuck' on a practice question, do you just look at the
answer in the back and be done with it, or do you ask for help in order to
help understand/analyze the question?

- How good are your math skills? Did you analyze the question
correctly but made mistakes in the algebra?

- Give yourself a timed self quiz, how long does it take you to correctly
solve a 2 mark question? Did you take too much time to think about a simple
question?

- Last but not least, do you rely on your memorization in order to obtain a
mark on a test? Have you tried to understand the concepts, analyze
different situations, and apply those concepts?

Can I do a make up assignment* to replace a poor mark on a test?

Yes. I will first need to see sufficient evidence** that you have put
yourself in a position to succeed on a second opportunity, otherwise, we'd
be
wasting each other's time. Sufficient evidence may include, but is not
limited to:
- Detailed solutions to all of the assigned work
- A log of the time the you spent seeking help (with me or a tutor)
- A written analysis of why you did poorly on the test and what you will do
do to improve

* Make up assignments may be a written or verbal test, a problem set, or an
essay
** Sufficient evidence will vary on an individual basis
