About The Teacher

Mrs. Adams has taught in several schools across the Lambton-Kent District 
School Board in a variety of positions. She is qualified to teach both high 
school and elementary school. She has supply taught in every classroom from 
the Early Years Program to a Secondary School level. Mrs. Adams was also an 
Early Intervention Literacy Teacher for grade one and senior kindergarten 
students and has spent many years teaching Visual Arts and Special Education 
to Secondary School students.

She has a Master's degree in Special Education, Specialist certifications 
in Special Education, Visual Arts, Reading,  Specialist 
certification in English as a Second Language and specialized training in 
the elementary grades related to literacy and numeracy. Mrs Adams also holds
 TESL certification recognized in both Canada as well as within the Ontario affiliation. 
She was one of the first group of LKDSB educators in the Board who attended the summer
Mental Health First Aid series which was both an awareness and strategies presentation. 

Mrs. Adams has written and published a number of books related to the 
Autism Spectrum and various learning challenges, for teachers, health care 
professionals and parents. 

She has given presentations and workshops across Canada and the United 
States to audiences in such regions as California, Hawaii, Newfoundland, New 
Brunswick, Alberta, Michigan, Chicago and of course her own province 
of Ontario.

Mission For The Class

The Learning and Resource Centre is dedicated to supporting both students 
and teachers. Resources are compiled or designed to meet the differentiated 
learning needs of students as well as offer accommodated material for 
teachers to use in the classroom. It is also a quiet place to read and 
study. 
Within the room there is a mini library, computers with writing and reading 
software like Kurzweil and the Premier Suite, small tape recorders and 
specialized handouts. Students also come to the Centre for 1-1 assistance.
