MATH HELP AVAILABLE EVERY DAY AT LUNCH IN ROOM 148
To all students:
Please purchase a three-ring 2 or 3-inch binder for your mathematics course
this semester.
A minimum of three sections, clearly separated by dividers, should be
created
with the following headings: Notes, Homework, Tests and Quizzes.
Keep a supply of both lined and graph paper in your binder.
Each day you will be expected to bring a pencil, eraser, ruler, scientific
calculator (graphing calculators will not always be permitted on
evaluations), your notebook and text book to class.
Students will NOT be permitted to leave class in order to get materials from
their locker once class has started.
Students arriving late to class will wait in the hallway until there is a
suitable break in the period so as not to disturb the class once it is
underway. Make every effort to arrive to class on time.
Policies Regarding Absences For Evaluations
Should an evaluation be missed by a student, a note from home is required
explaining the reason for the absence and the awareness of the
parent/guardian that a formal evaluation has been missed. Students should
be
prepared to make up the assessment on the first day back.
**If you are in the school at any point of the day of an evaluation, you are
expected to see me in person regarding your absence, otherwise will be given
a mark of zero. I can be found in the math office, located across from the
library. At lunch I am frequently in the Math Help Room (room 150 or 148).
Make-Up evaluations will be according to the following guidelines:
1. School Activities or Appointments: Student who have a conflict with a
test/quiz because of a school activity or medical appointment are expected
to
negotiate an alternate test date with the teacher at least 2 days before the
test.
2. Illness or other Legitimate Unforseen Absence: On the first day back to
school, the student must be prepared to write the test or a make-up (an
alternate date may be determined by the teacher where appropriate). For an
extended absence, the teacher will determine a reasonable date for the
evaluation.
