Today students practised scatterplots and lines and curves of best fit on the
graphical calculators using the data on P85 #7 and P73 #3,4.
Wednesday September 30th
Students continued with the use of the graphical calculator and finished the
example involving the lizard on P78. Question #5 on P85 was attempted by the
students and then demonstrated. Quiz was returned. HW is to review class
notes and organize their math binder.

Quiz on scatterplots for half the period.
More work on the graphical calculator was done.
Monday September 28th
Today students did a linear regression on the graphical calculator following
the example on P78 example 1 in the text and a graphical calculator
instruction sheet. Scatterplot quiz tomorrow. HW is to review for the Quiz.
Friday September 25th
HW Problems were taken up.
Students saw a demonstration of a scatterplot from the HW done using the
graphical calculator rather than by hand using pencil and graph paper.

The Terry Fox Run took place today in Period A for grade nines for most of
the period. HW problem was taken up.

were covered using the overhead projector. Students should finish the

BEDMAS and place value was given to complete for HW.

Welcome to grade 9 math! The homework will be posted here each day. Today is
a short period. A handout with a few review questions from grade 8 was given
to be completed for HW. Students should also download and print the Course
Guideline (2 pages), and hand it in with student and parent signatures.
Remember that tomorrow is DAY 1 again! We will have a lesson and homework
tomorrow.
