Students did an investigation into the characteristics of polynomial
functions with use of the graphical calculator. Students summarized their

Wednesday September 10tj
Introduction to Polynomial Functions: Power Functions, including even and
odd degree functions and "end behaviour". Investigation on the graphical
calculator was done. HW P11-14 #1-5,7 10,11,16ab,17ab.
Tuesday September 9th
Increasing and Decreasing Regions of a Function: A handout and lesson were
given at the board.
Monday September 8th
This was a work period on transformations. Problems were taken up at the
board. A review test will be given on Thursday. Evaluation Policy
signatures are due on Friday. The policy should be downloaded and printed
from the following website and printed at home.

Transformations of the 8 Basic Functions
A handout was given and problems were taken up at the board. Finish the
handout for HW: students copied some functions from the board to sketch on
their own.
Thursday September 4th
There was an administrative assembly today. HW problems from yesterday were
addressed. HW for today is to complete the handout on the 8 Basic Functions.
Wednesday September 3rd
Day 2
A lesson and a handout on Intercepts, Domain and Range, and Positive and
Negative Regions to be completed for HW were given.

Day 1.
Welcome back to math! Today classes are shortened. The lesson is a review
of functions and a HW handout was given in class. Students are to look to
this HW website to print HW sheets at home in the future. They will be
posted on this website. Students were given a lesson and a Review of
Funcions worksheet to finish for HW.
