M. Parent - Salle 309
Ask your child if he/she is doing their utmost to speak in French as often and to the best of their ability each and every day. C'est une des raisons d'être de notre programme!
HOMEWORK ROOM- available two days a week at lunch - Tuesday (Mme Ethier's room) and Friday (Mme Swift's room). This is to give you an opportunity to get caught up on any homework you are behind in. Take the initiative and ask M. Parent or any other teacher for a permission slip to attend.

HOMEWORK
FRANCAIS
Some people simply need to finish their Proverbes (overdue). They all know who they are. Many have been kept in at lunch hour and are still not done.
LIRE (Read) -15 minutes chaque soir!
Overtime - Les proverbes - (10 students haven't yet handed this in) - due almost 2 weeks ago.
GÉOGRAPHIE
Test - Chapitre 2 - définitions et 5 questions - mardi, le 24 novembre. - Great class average - 80%. Much better than first test (63%).
Chapitre 3 - 20 définitions - due Tuesday, Dec.1.
Overtime - 7 students have yet to hand in their answers to the 5 questions in Chap.1 and/or Chap.2 - These students all know who they are. Many have been kept in at lunch time and still have not finished.
HEALTH
- Alternative Food Guides and Other Ideas - 13 websites to explore. Pick at 3 sites and write a critique for each one. Your critique should be between 5-8 sentences (per website). - DDR - 25 nov. - 10 students still not done - They all know who they are because they have been kept in at lunch hour to work on it.
For English and Science homework - Go to the Module Vanier website and click on ENGLISH HOMEWORK.
MATHS - ***please see 8B homework page***
Many students are not completing their Math homework. It is so important to practice at home what we have covered in class in order to master new concepts.
PHYS. ED./DRAMA/ART
Drame - Théatre des lecteurs - Pratise your lines! - Présentations - mercredi, le 25 nov. - all finished now. 2 students will still present - were unavailable due to absences or were in Step-Ahead Math when their presentation was going on in class.
Phys. Ed. - every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday - shorts, tee-shirt, running shoes - always period 4 (11:05 - 11:55). - some students (3 boys) seem to nearly always forget their stuff! Badminton, handball and postball (the last two are basketball lead-up games) is what we are currently doing.
MISCELLANEOUS
Getting organized - A quick reference guide on how students can send themselves documents that they might want to work on at home and a school:
Step 1: Go to http://www.limestone.on.ca/
Step 2: Click on Portal Login (5th item on the left side menu)
Step 3: Click on the Student Portal button (green)
Step 4: Enter the same User ID and Password as when they login onto the computers at school.
Step 5: Click on My Mailbox.
Step 6. Create a new message.
Step 7. Click the Attach button to attach a saved file (Browse to find it)
Step 8: Send it to yourself.
Now everyone should be able to retrieve their work files from school or home. Students need to remember that First Class is a school too, not a chat room or MSN. If they are caught sending emails that are not schoolwork related they might lose their computer privileges.

SPORTS
Volleyball - Many tournaments and exhibition games in November and early December. Good luck to both the boys' and the girls' teams! Students involved need to come to all practices and be aware of all upcoming games and tournaments (posted at school).
