Classroom Rights & Responsibilities

The following ten statements are our Classroom Rights & Responsibilities. Every student has the right and the responsibility to be aware of these and to practice these at all times.

I   HAVE   THE   RIGHT   TO   BE   HAPPY   AND   TREATED   WITH   KINDNESS   IN   THIS   ROOM

- This means that no one will laugh at me, ignore me, or hurt my feelings

I   HAVE   THE   RIGHT   TO   BE   MYSELF   IN   THIS   ROOM

- This means that no one will treat me unfairly because I am big or small, fast or slow, girl or boy

I   HAVE   THE   RIGHT   TO   BE   SAFE   IN   THIS   ROOM

- This means that no one will hit me, kick me, push me, or hurt me in any way, shape, or form

I   HAVE   THE   RIGHT   TO   HEAR   AND   BE   HEARD   IN   THIS   ROOM

- This means that no one will yell, scream, or shout, and that my opinions and desires will be considered in any plans we make

I   HAVE   THE   RIGHT   TO   LEARN   ABOUT   MYSELF   AND   OTHERS   IN   THIS   ROOM

- This means that I will be free to express my feelings and opinions without being interrupted or punished

I   WILL   RESPECT   MY   CLASSMATES

- By listening to them and treating them as important people

I   WILL   RESPECT   MY   TEACHERS

- By listening to them and treating them as important people

I   WILL   RESPECT   MY   CLASSROOM

- By showing some pride and treating it as my second home

I   WILL   RESPECT   MY   SCHOOL

- By showing some pride and treating it as my second home

I   WILL   RESPECT   MYSELF

- By being the best I can be and celebrating the unique person that I am
