Parents and Guardians;
-The permission form and the health form required for our field trip are in the "documents" link. Print off the permission form and the health form and return to school by Wednesday. The cost of the trip is $10.00 and it is non-refundable. Student's are expected to complete a writing activity for the following day.
-Marks have been updated. Some student's will show a "0" under the subject. The "0" represents possibly a couple of things; first your child may have had only one assessment piece and did not complete it and hand it in for grading, we may not have covered that subject or they did not achieve a mark. Those student's who do have a total of "100" expect that grade to fluctuate. That mark means that only one piece of work has been assessed and that was the grade. With more assessments the grades will go up and down. Please remind your children that work needs to be completed and handed in on time. Many extensions have been provided regarding late or non-existent assignments and some student's still do not hand in work.
-A new book report is due for November 30th. This report is on a science fiction novel.
-Student's are designing a preliminary floor plan of their ideal Pius XII school. Student's are required to calculate the area, and perimeter of each room. They have been provided a sheet of grid paper to complete this task. Each room needs to be labelled with the dimensions associated to each room. Calculations must be made on an additional sheet of paper where that demonstrates to me their understanding of the concepts taught. This is due back on Monday November 9th.
-Parent's please practise the daily math problem with your child nightly. They are found in documents. We have completed the posted problems in class and have taken them up, but extra time dedicated to the problems will benefit your child's understanding.
Finally, starting soon a new fund raising event is going to begin. We are collecting money in order to buy textbooks and resources for our classes. Our first event will be Guess The Teacher. For $1.00 student's can try and match the teacher baby pictures with the teacher. The winning student will then enjoy a lunch at Boston Pizza, Kelsey's or Montanas with Mrs. Bianchin and the teacher of the winning student. So you may guess as many times as you would like, the funds raised are going to a great cause.
