Parents and Guardians;
-Student's need to finish their Christmas stories and hand them in tomorrow morning.
-The genre for next months book report is "Fantasy". Outlines of the activities will be placed on my web site and those who require hard copies will be provided them.
-Student's are asked to bring their Kris Kringle gifts to school for Friday. If there are some student's who have not paid for the STC field trip Friday, I will be accepting money and permission forms tomorrow. If you are unable to find the permission form, a signed letter stating you are giving your child permission to attend the play will be sufficient.
-Unfortunately because of the poor response to the STC field trip this Friday to see Sleeping Beauty we will not be able to go on any other field trips this year. The STC requires the school to prepay the seats and we have to pay for the seats even if a child does not attend. This shortfall in funding from planned field trips requires the payments to come directly from our school budget, which affects the entire school. We are hoping that since we have spare seats available parents/guardians of the grade 6 class might like to attend the play with their child. If anyone is interested in attending the play with their child you need to send $10.00 to school tomorrow with your child. We will meet you at the theatre at 11:40am.
-Student's will be receiving a journal template to bring home over the holidays. Student's are required to write a journal entry on the specified date. The entry must fill the entire space, it must be neat and legible. Student's are being graded on this activity which is to be returned on the first day back to school.
-Our tutor will be with us for the remainder of the year, however her hours have not been finalized just yet. She will work with those student's who are struggling with a concept or an activity that requires a bit more focused time and instruction.
-On December 18th, our class will be going to the Sudbury Theater Center to see "Sleeping Beauty". Permission forms and medical forms will be sent home in December. The cost for this trip is once again $10.00 per student.
-A new book report is due for December 18th. This report is on a science fiction novel.
